The (Managing) Board Is The Highest
Governing Body of Judicial & Institutional Services (J&IS)
It provides strategic leadership, guidance, and oversight, and ensures that the organization operates in a transparent, professional, and accountable manner.
The Board safeguards the mission, continuity, and integrity of J&IS by setting the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring that policies, plans, and operations align with legal requirements, public accountability standards, and the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities Board Include:
- Setting the strategic direction of the organization
- Approving long-term strategies, annual plans, and major projects
- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial obligations
- Overseeing the budget, financial management, and use of public and project funds
- Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of probation and family guardianship services
- Promoting good governance, integrity, and ethical decision-making
- Ensuring that organizational risks are identified, managed, and controlled
- Appointing, supporting, and holding the Director accountable for daily management
- Representing J&IS at the highest institutional and governance levels when required
As the highest governing authority, the Board carries final responsibility for all affairs of J&IS and ensures that the organization continues to serve the community in a safe, lawful, professional, and effective manner.
