The Board safeguards the mission, continuity, and integrity of J&IS by setting the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring that policies, plans, and operations align with legal requirements, public accountability standards, and the needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities Board Include:

Setting the strategic direction of the organization
Approving long-term strategies, annual plans, and major projects
Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial obligations
Overseeing the budget, financial management, and use of public and project funds
Monitoring the quality and effectiveness of probation and family guardianship services
Promoting good governance, integrity, and ethical decision-making
Ensuring that organizational risks are identified, managed, and controlled
Appointing, supporting, and holding the Director accountable for daily management
Representing J&IS at the highest institutional and governance levels when required
